The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house by using a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who my nsfas wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
